Parenting today can best be described by he opening line of A Tale of Two Cities: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." No society has ever been harder on families than ours, yet we live in a day when parents who pour love, time, and consistency into their kids' lives can see greater payoffs than ever before. Our children are starving for authenticity-seeing us live out our values and modeling healthy behavior. When we do, they take notice because the world that surrounds them is overflowing with fakery, confusion, and selfish agendas.
I don't need to waste your precious time telling you how hard it is to stay married, raise kids, and keep your sanity. I have a hard enough time myself, keeping the spark alive between my wife,Holly and me, and being an example for our three grown children and three grandchildren. What you and I both need to hear, however-and we need to hear it over and over again-is that we are the perfect parent for your kids and they are exactly what we need in children. My parenting programs are designed to give hope and excitement for the future. Using the parenting principles I have been studying over the past 30 years, we have what it takes to be able to stay calm during frazzled times and full of wisdom when the rest of the world and half of the neighborhood is spinning out of control.
